Les Horvath (October 12, 1921 – November 14, 1995)
Les Horvath was the first player from Ohio State to win the Heisman Trophy. At 5’10”, he played halfback and finished his star season with 1200 all purpose yards. He graduated from dental school and served as a naval dental officer.
After serving in the Navy, he played professional football for the Los Angeles Rams and practiced dentistry in the off-season. He later retired from the NFL and practiced dentistry in California. Ohio State retired his jersey in 2001.
